Bay salt is an indie rock band made by two great friends, ian mccormick and adonai yops. both members are currently based out of phoenix, arizona and attending grand canyon university. inspirations include bands and musicians like mac demarco, balu brigada, dire straights, sublime, the RED HOT chilli peppers and a wide variety of others.

Ian mccormick

I’m from a small town in washington called la conner and I’ve had a wide variety of musical expirience with indie, metal, rock, producing, and recording. I went to robert lang studios in seattle for a year before coming to gcu and meeting adonai. some of my biggest influences have been mac demarco, mark knofler, dave murrey, stevie ray vaughn, alfie templemen, and bootsy collins. one of my favorite things besides music is the beach, it inspires me to write relaxing music with lots of dynamics and color that reflect what the beach means to me.

im from beaver dam, wisconsin and previously illinois. I first really got into music with the legendary fellas in the band neckdive in beaver dam. My musical backround revolved mostly around rock, metal and beverages but ive loved branching out more to indie after i met ian. some of my personal biggest musical influences are jerry cantrell, dimebag darrel, jimmy hendrix, adam jones, and david bowie. besides music, I’d say food is one of my favorite things (especially burgers, steak, hot stuff etc). and YES, i think one day ill cut the hair.
